Encourage Hope and Help is a suicide prevention website for youth (ages 10-24), parents, educators, LGBTQ, attempt survivors, loss survivors, veterans, and community members in the Kansas City area. Through education and prevention efforts, we strive to end youth suicide.
Hosted by Tri-County Mental Health Services, Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, as well as help connect them to appropriate care. This training is being offered for non-mental health professionals like teachers, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders, parents, school security, school bus drivers, and other adults who work with youth. For this virtual training, First Aiders will first complete a 2-hour self-paced online class, then participate in the virtual portion of the training. To register, click here: bit.ly/2USDIqw. Please note that registration will end on September 15th. For questions, please email Sherri at email@example.com. #SPM21 #BeThere ... See MoreSee Less
